New item. 3d printed replacement You will have to reuse your metal gear. It is the easiest to do by using a hot air blower to extract it Tools needed - screwdriver , circlip removal tool (optional) , hot air blower or something similar This shredder gear replacement fixes a problem in which you can hear the paper shredder working but it is not shredding any paper. How to fix it: 1. Open the top and take out all of the black screws 2. undo all 5 silver screws and take out the whole assembly with 2 plastic gears 3. Close the shredder and put it upside down 4. Remove all of the big silver screws from underneath 5. At this point you will be able to put it back as it was and just take the top off 6. Take out 1 silver bolt and remove thick plastic film 7. Take out 4 bolts that hold the assembly. At this point in order to lift it you will also have to detach 4 cables and cut 2 zip ties. 3 cables are next to each other. You will be able to remove them easily once you press on the little connector lever with your fingers. Fourth connector is on the other side of the assembly under a little silver screw. Remove it and then you will be able to disconnect it 8. Take out the whole geared assembly 9. Undo the 3 silver bolts that cover the gears. In my case 1 of them was damaged. I had to use a little dremel like rotary tool with a grinding disc to cut a "-" in it for a bigger flathead screwdriver. 10. Use a circlip removal tool to take out the circlip. There is a picture of what it looks like if you have never seen one. Circlip is the little horseshoe shaped clip which sits on the shaft 11. Once you do that you can take out the gears easily 12. In order to extract the metal gear from the plastic you will have to heat it up. It is easy to do with a hot air blower. Once you take the metal gear out clean it out with a knife 13. Slide the metal gear inside the plastic replacement 14. Put everything back on and use this list in reverse
